I really did you know.
I tried to make you want me,
I needed that so.
I tried hard to be clever,
I tried to be in love.
I tried to be pretty;
it seems I tried in vain.
I wanted your approval;
I hoped that it would come,
And yet it never did.
I wonder why sometimes.
I wanted you to love me,
to lie upon my bed,
to hold me in your arms,
so I would never be afraid.
